Attention Runners! A
program for individuals, community groups or school teams. Attention Runners!
was developed for students who exhibited behavior consistent with Attention
Deficit Disorder(ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Successful as an intervention for these students, it was soon found that the
program benefited others as well.
|
| The program focus
on exercise, nutrition, restful sleep, goal setting and team building
addresses a wide variety of other issues such as: Anxiety, Depression,
Eating Disorders and Social Skills.

Love and Limits: This
is an 8 week (individual or group) structured play program for parents
and their children .. Parents learn to conduct play sessions with
their child. |
| Embedded in the play is a chance
to listen empathically, mirror the child's feelings and give the child
a chance to clarify those feelings, to "BE" with the child. The
program also affords an opportunity for the parent to be clearly in charge
of the session - beginning, ending, and setting limits. Parents
first learn the skills and practice them with the therapist/group. They
next put them into action with their own children. During the first
sessions, the therapist is always available for support and feedback. After
the initial learning and practicing, the play sessions can be carried
out at home and adjusted as the child reaches new stages of development. Because
it is designed to strengthen family relationships, this program is educational
and preventative. It can also be used to address the needs of Anxious
and perfectionistic children, depressed children, children of divorce
and children of recovering or addicted parents. |

| It encourages young women

journey through middle and high school. An 8 week commitment is
required for new group members, after that the girls may attend on as

E-Group Discussion
Forums: Why
doesn’t a very bright child do schoolwork he/she can easily complete? |
A fifth grade student gave me
the answer. Punishment for not finishing work is often isolation during
social times in the classroom. Some students prefer punishment to interacting
with cliques and bullies on the playground. E-Group is structured to
give social support to these bright students. This is a safe place to
discuss the games and gossip of the school yard and receive validation
and support.
Students can bounce back from bullying and teasing if they
don’t internalize it.
This is only one example of how E-Groups can
work for you. There are many other issues that can discussed and worked
through using
on-line support as well as the guidance of a trained. |
